This issue of Elephant Times offered an over view of work during the year - as a backdrop to the AGM.
The main theme was Commonwealth Debates linked to the opportunity provided by the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham

In article 'Australia Three Myths' Joy Schultz responded to Elephant Times 2.2. She says that Audrey Osler's reflection on 'Empireland' [ET 2.2] resonates with me.
"It is true the empire's legacy is with us today".
In article 'Black lives matter & always should have' Phil Glendenning reflects on the Australian experience.
"When the First Fleet arrived in Sydney Cove in January 1788, Australia had a population of up to a million indigenous people whose presence stretched back for over 60,000 years. By 1900 that number had dropped to less than 100,000, prompting the Australian Human Rights Commission to describe what had happened to the Aboriginal people since colonisation as genocide ..........."

ET 2.4 Supplement - Birchfield Commonwealth Connections
This ET was developed in partnership with Birchfield Big Local. Interviews conducted by Andrew Simons
People involved in 'Big Local' were asked to reflect on their Commonwealth links. Contributions: Mehnaz Afzal, Sam Cobourne, Nenah Kumar, Marvet McAnuff, & Helga Edstrom OBE.

ET 2.3 Commonwealth Connections. Three people - Three life stories
Rohini Corfield, Vipin Chauhan and Phyllis Thompson each wrote articles, reflecting on their personal experiences coming to England as children. They then came together with others from Tide~ to share drafts and discuss the implications.
These conversations helped shape key ideas and issues that might contribute to 'Commonwealth Awareness'.
