Core to Tide's ongoing strategy was creating space for teacher creativity [see xxx]. Sometimes this was about responding to policy or curriculum change, sometimes it was about making a direct offer e.g. to develop a resource on an issue or place. Another approach was recognising opportunities that might engage a wide range of people, for example, because the Commonwealth Games were coming to town, or the UK are hosting the COP29 conference.

There was much to understand about the global nature of the Covid19 Pandemic. It was also a time for refection and thinking about better futures.

The Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham offered the opportunity to explore issue of historical sensitivity, and future community cohesion .

There is a need to learn about climate change but we also need to ask - 'How do we see the educational implications of climate change?'
